Hurricane Polo made landfall in Baja California Sur on Monday, September 28 as a Category 3 storm, with the heaviest impacts in Comondú, Mulegé and Loreto. It hit the central coast of Sonora a second time on September 29.

Hurricane Rachel and the season's first cold front are now bringing heavy rain to Nayarit, Sinaloa and southern Baja California Sur, plus nine northern and central states, through Friday, October 2. Delays in the delivery of mail and parcels are expected in affected areas.
